Having done Maths at York university in 2012, I’ve always been looking for ways to use my knowledge and apply it wherever I can. I first started tutoring early 2013 and loved it right from the start – seeing the cogs turn as people learn new things and surprise themselves by completing problems that had evaded them before is a fantastic experience! So far I have helped children, teenagers and adults with maths at all levels from Key Stage 2 to undergrad engineering, although the majority of the work I do is GCSE or A-level maths.

Working one-to-one has always been appealing to me, being able to focus all my attention on a single person and figure out the best way to be of service moment to moment can be a huge advantage over teaching to a large group.

Outside of maths, a lot of my time these days is spent on chess and poker- or any competitive game really! Creating  and improving strategies is something I’ve loved since childhood, like solving puzzles, and the mix of skills involved in both games can keep me entertained for days. If you share an interest in either poker or chess and want to improve, maybe I can help!
